Michael Crawford didn't sing in the encore because he had come up straight subsequently a matinee operation 'The Wizard of Oz' at the London Palladium (where he was playing the title character) and had to preserve his voice for an evening show. In the end scene (The Final Lair), during the Phantom office where he is telling Christine and Raoul to leave and never return, Ramin Karimloo removes his jacket. This is because it became fastened to the hook the Punjab Lasso was hung from. To remain in character and movement freely across the stage, Ramin Karimloo simply removed it and carried on.
