Colm Wilkinson, (one of four Phantoms performing encore) was in fact the first always Phantom, who originated this function. A dummy was dropped from the lighting catwalk to show the hanged body of Joseph Buquet, played past Nick Holder.
In the end scene (The Final Lair), during the Phantom office where he is telling Christine and Raoul to leave and never return, Ramin Karimloo removes his jacket. This is because it became fastened to the hook the Punjab Lasso was hung from. To remain in character and movement freely across the stage, Ramin Karimloo simply removed it and carried on.
